My father was a camera buff and instilled in me a love of making photographs. When I was in my teens, he gave me his Contax viewfinder camera, along with three Zeiss lenses and off I went, taking pictures wherever I could. I even made a little darkroom in my bedroom closet. When I went to graduate school, to study journalism, I specialized in photojournalism and, after receiving my M.A. I worked as a newspaper photographer and also as a stringer for the Associated Press. I enjoy photographing nature, old buildings, and people - especially children.
