Over the years, I have sold lots of things at lots of venues: at shows, to stores, to museum gift shops, through having my things shown in magazines, from my website, on ebay, and from my home. In all those sales, I don't think I've felt quite the same kick that I just felt last night, upon discovering I had made my first
Etsy sale. I sold a sweet little "Fold-Over Pinkeep" and I am just as pleased as can be. I feel like I have joined a sisterhood (which does include some very creative men, too) of wonderful makers, of people who have taken the "Handmade Pledge," of soulmates who appreciate the mantra of
"use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without." Many thanks to my first etsy buyer!
Made from recycled textiles, this piece is part (#4) of my series I call Pieces of Dreams. I also call this particular piece Baby Dreams because I think it would look so sweet in a special baby’s room. Materials used in making this piece are: felted wool from abandoned sweaters, vintage buttons, and wool tapestry thread. Baby Dreams, which is a one-of-a-kind piece, measures approximately 6” x 6.25” and is offered for sale at: my Etsy shop.
