I'm enjoying hand sewing today. The peaceful, meditative trance, while sliding the needle along the cloth. The lovely, bumpy, slightly irregular look that no machine can reproduce. Hand made is what it is about.
This is Elizabeth, one of my early dolls. I'm glad I kept her. So many things get sold; sometimes it is nice to be the "buyer" of my own creations. Of course, I made her for Adeline.
This nest was tucked behind the porch light when the house painters arrived. All these big, husky guys with impressive tatoos and heavy-duty muscles, turned to mush when they discovered the nest. They wouldn't go anywhere near painting the porch until after the babies were hatched and gone. For a while, we had a cream color house with a taupe porch.
