Lazy Sunday

Adeline is home for Thanksgiving. So nice to have her here. I'm not sewing today, but here is a picture of some of my little pinkeeps, just for fun. Enjoy the day!

C'est finis

That's my feeble attempt at French. What I mean to say is that Comfort is finished. And, I am pleased with how it turned out. :-)

It is made from recycled vintage textiles: silk, linen (discharged), wool (overdyed); antique French metallic ribbon, metallic thread, linen thread, and pearl and glass beads. About 5.5" x 5.5"

UPDATE: Comfort is now for sale at my Etsy shop.

A border for Comfort

It's time to stop dawdling over Comfort. Time to put on a border and finish it. I have some wonderful, old, pale blue pieces, but they are stripey and just don't seem right.

I have this wonderful piece of printed linen, but it was way too dark. I pondered a while, and I decided to try bleaching it a bit. I made a nice dish of bleach and warm water, I wet the piece of material, and I put it in.

Oops! I forgot all about it. I bleached out almost all of the blue. It looks kind of cool. It makes me feel very India Flint-ish. It's actually quite beautiful. I'm sure someone like Jude would do marvelous things with it.

I will try using it as the border for Comfort. I hope it ends up looking good.
