Lucky Me

Earth Star has arrived. It was made by Jude Hill during her online Cloth to Cloth workshop. As I watched its progress, I bonded with it.  I am so pleased that I was able to scoop it up from her online shop and now it lives with me. Is it not beautiful? So soft, so endearing.

I made a decision regarding the border for Nostalgia. Do you like it?  You can click on the picture to enlarge it.

Speaking of liking things, how do you like my needle roll?  It was a gift from my friend Annie Hayes.  Annie gave me this luscious length of wool, thinking I might like to incorporate it into my work. But I just love it on its own, so I rolled it up and set it on my sewing table.  So nice to be working with this reminder of my friendship with a special person.  You know how it is when you're sewing --- if your pincushion isn't nearby, then you start sticking pins and needles into whatever is handy.

  I love it!

Annie makes beautiful, primitive hooked rugs. Here's one I like a lot. It shows the traditional Hand in Heart, associated with the Shakers and the Shaker wisdom: "Hands to work, hearts to God."

Click HERE for a nice article about the last Shakers in America (only three left as of April 2010).  Be sure to watch the brief video, too.

It is 4:15 a.m.  Once again I have stayed up for way too long. Time for me to go to bed. Nite Nite.

Pink - Like a Baby

I'm trying to stay away from the computer ... working on several projects ... if I get near the computer, I end up glued to it for hours ... would rather be with my needle and thread ... so I will be posting pictures, more than words.
