More Sunset Dreams
Sunset Dreams is the eleventh item in my Pieces of Dreams series of Little Quilts. This series, which I started in 2003, is my most meditative work. While I stitched this little piece, I dreamed of the beautiful sunsets I see from my kitchen window ... reds, pinks, blues, purples ... a collection of colors stitched upon the sky. It is made from recycled sweaters, embellished with wool stitching and antique buttons, and has a silk border.
Sunset Dreams
What I did today ..... stitched, stitched, stitched ..... stitched some more.
I love the way it looks before I've applied a "proper" back.

Playing with Color
The way I start, whether it is textile or jewelry, is that I play with color. I gather colors, sometimes stitching a few little pieces to each other, or linking a few stones. It's procrastination, to be sure. But it seems it is also an important part of my process. Tonight, it is about jewelry .... and here are a few of the colorways that have come about as a result of playing at my "work" table.
